At Bethel Christian Preschool
We view our developmental preschool, first and for most as a ministry. At Bethel Preschool we see each and every child as a unique indiviual God has made. Our school family focuses on 5 vital areas that are important in the early years of every child’s life.

 

 

Spiritually

1. Use music, stories and puppetry to introduce Bible themes and tell children about Jesus and God’s love.
2. Be a role model of Christ’s love.


Emotionally

1. Create a loving, secure and consistent environment.
2. Support and assist the children when separation anxieties occur.
3. Provide encouragement for development of positive self-esteem.


Socially

1. Encourage autonomy and self help skills such as dressing, feeding, potty
learning and hygiene.
2. Assist with language development through stories songs and finger plays.
3. Assist with learning social skills and problem solving.
4. Encourage children to be respectful of adults, other children and the environment.
5. Foster an understanding of safety boundaries both socially and physically.


Physically

1. Provide equipment for safe outdoor activities; running, climbing, throwing,
balancing and jumping.
2. Provide music and movement activities for safe and enjoyable large muscle
development.
3. Foster actives for using small muscles such as puzzles, block, stringing,
gluing, painting, and coloring.


Cognitively

1. Foster language development through books, conversations, pictures.
2. Give guidance in understanding themselves; body parts, senses, gender name and family.
3. Assist in recognizing and identifying the world around them, colors, shapes and size.
4. Introduce numbers.
5. Introduce spatial relationships: (in front of –in back of, in-out, over-under up-down.)
6. Assist in written name recognition.
