WOMEN'S MINISTRY: COFFEE CHAT W/ KIM HAMMOND

Kim Hammond arrived at Bethel about a year and a half ago, bringing along her energetic and enthusiastic personality. Kim and her family came to Bethel through their friends, the Ochoa family. They were looking for a homechurch with a strong children’s program, and that’s what they saw in Bethel.

Kim was born in Porterville, California on March 31, 1971. She grew up in a pastor’s home. At the age of 6, she gave her heart to the Lord at a kid’s revival meeting at Earlimart Assembly. Kim has been married to Chad, the love of her life, for thirteen years. They were married on July 6, 1996. Kim met Chad at Bethany College through mutual friends. They both transferred to Bethany their junior year in college, and like Kim, Chad also grew up in a pastor’s home. They are an awesome couple! They have two precious children, Seth and Hannah. Seth is eleven and Hannah is nine. Kim is presently a director of a Christian preschool in Ceres.

Kim’s definition of fun is “spending time with my family”. Kim’s goal and dream come true for 2009 was to become a first time homeowner. Kim is gifted in the area of decorating; with her creativity, she can turn any room in the house into a warm and cozy place where everyone feels at home.

Here are some of Kim’s favorites:
Worship song: Above All
Vacation: Going to the beach with family
Scripture: Isaiah 40
Color: Dark green tones
Pair of shoes: flip flops

Here are some of Kim’s firsts:
Job: McDonald’s – worked her way through college and got into management
Car: Silver Plymouth Arrow (five speed)
Date: First date with Chad was at the beach; they went for a walk and talked until 3AM!

Here are some of Kim’s preferences:
PEANUT BUTTER more than chocolate and vanilla
Pepsi over Coke
Beach over mountains
Winter over summer
Mexican over Italian food
Dogs over cats
Latenights over early mornings (except for work nights)
Milk chocolate over dark chocolate
Potatoes over rice

Kim lives by these words:“Never let your anger set whether it is with a spouse, family member or a friend. Be a bigger person and take the first step.”

Kim Hammond is a beautiful lady of God. Kim is a blessing to all who know her!
