Harry and his former wife, Eileene, were both born in Minneapolis, MN, graduated in 1944 from North Central Bible Institute. They were married the same year, pastoring in Minnesota and Montana for 8 years, before leaving for the land of their calling, Japan, in 1952.

Ardelle was born in North Dakota and also attended NBI, as well as Vanguard University in California. Ardelle married Fredolf Sondeno from Turlock in 1952 and one year later also found themselves in Japan.

In 1958 the Foreign Missions Department of the Assemblies of God requested that Harry go to Korea to fill in for a missionary on furlough. For the next 3 years, he was principle of the A/G Bible School in Seoul. He returned to Japan in 1961. He spent the next term there where he served as Field Chairman for the A/G missionary body.

Both families returned to stateside ministries after approximately 20 years of missionary service in Japan. Harry went back to pastoring in Minneapolis, and Fredolf to directing a Teen Challenge in San Jose, California. They later moved to Modesto, where they pastored for 5 years and Ardelle was able to complete her college education, graduating from CSUS Turlock with a degree in music.

Harry has 3 children: Mark, Paul, and Patti. Ardelle has 2 children: Claire and Kenton. Together they have 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grand child. Harry has been an ordained Assembly of God minister for 60 years.
